A Week in Toscana

day1

Day 1

  • Arrival Saturday am at Pisa (direct flight from NYC) or at Pertola – Firenze (through Rome, Paris, London, Munich, Zurich, etc). Upon request we can arrange a driver with either a taxi, Mercedes or 8 passenger van to drive you to the Villa. You can also arrive at the Santa Maria Novella train station, 90 minutes nonstop from Rome, 25 minutes to the Villa.

 

  • Drinks, fruit and cheese by the pool with a selection of canapés. Dinner at a local trattoria such as Mala Femmina in Girone.

Day 2

  • VIP tour to the Uffizi or Vasari Corridor.

 

  • Lunch in Florence at Quatro Leoni, visit Brancacci Chapel or stroll in Boboli Gardens entered through Villa Bardini, with a wonderful little café in the gardens offering a grand view of Florence.

 

  • 1st Sunday of every month there is a major antique market in the streets and piazzas of Arezzo.

Day 3

  • Mercato St. Ambrogio, the least touristy of outdoor morning markets. Great place to shop for cheese, fish, meat and fruit.

 

  • Lunch at Cibreo Café, pomodoro aspic and pesce crude are our favorites.  Save room for the memorable flourless dark chocolate cake.

 

  • Piazza San Marco, visit the prison with frescos of Fra Angelico and Michelangelo’s David along with the Mapplethorpe Exhibit.

 

  • Relax by pool, dinner prepared by Rossella and served by staff.  Typical menu may be ricotta tart, frutti de mare risotto, grilled branzino, fruit tart and gelato.

Day 4

  • Day trip to Lucca or Siena.

Day 5

  • Relax by the pool in the morning – or enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the pergola.

 

  • Tour Amphiteater of Fiesole and gardens of La Pietra (VIP private tour).

 

 

Day 6

  • Shopping at the Mall which includes Prada, Bottega Veneta, Armani, Valentino, Roberto Cavalli, etc., etc. at discount prices.

 

  • Enjoy a light lunch at Mall Caffé or select a nearby authentic trattoria.

  • The Piazza Grande in Arezzo (pictured left) is where Roberto Benigni filmed Life is Beautiful.

  • Departure
